Altitude Secures +50,000t of CORCs from Biochar CDR Hubs in Southeast Asia

Altitude commits to purchase 50,000+ tons of CO₂ Removal Certificates from Greenglow’s verified biochar facilities in Southeast Asia, expanding its global portfolio of durable, community-benefiting CDR projects.

August 28, 2025 [Switzerland] — Altitude has committed to purchase more than 50,000 tons of CO₂ Removal Certificates (CORCs) from biochar facilities in Southeast Asia operated by Greenglow, a regional project developer focused on scaling biochar carbon removal. The agreement marks a major expansion of Altitude’s global portfolio of durable carbon removal projects, with all credits to be certified and issued through the Puro.earth registry for full transparency and verification.

Greenglow’s facilities use advanced pyrolysis technology to transform agricultural waste into biochar, a stable form of carbon that locks CO₂ away for centuries. Alongside carbon removal, the projects generate tangible benefits for local communities: creating new revenue streams for farmers, improving soil health, and reducing the harmful impacts of open burning and poor waste disposal.

“With this new commitment in Southeast Asia, Altitude is scaling its role as a global leader in durable carbon removal,” said Daniel Benjamin Schulz, CEO of Altitude. “Long-term offtake agreements like this provide the certainty developers need to expand high-quality biochar CDR projects. The result is measurable climate impact paired with meaningful local benefits.”

For Greenglow, the partnership provides the foundation to grow. “Altitude’s commitment to more than 50,000 tons of CORCs enables us to strengthen infrastructure and expand across the region,” said Michael Kuerschner, Co-Founder of Greenglow. “By building scalable and verifiable biochar CDR projects, we’re showing how carbon removal can deliver both climate solutions and sustainable development.”

This agreement is part of Altitude’s broader effort to build a global, diversified portfolio of carbon removal credits (CDRs). By bringing Southeast Asian biochar CDR into the mix, Altitude is showing how verified climate impact can scale, and demonstrating that financial outcomes, local development, and carbon removal can progress together.
